Back in 2002, Trishelle Cannatella was part of The Real World: Las Vegas, becoming a bit of a star and appearing on Road Rules before dating professional wrestlers and posing for Playboy. She’s since appeared in movies such as Ninja Cheerleaders and on TV programs you’ve actually heard of, like Criminal Minds. Somehow along the way she’s also become a semi-pro poker player and is teaming up with former Miss USA competitor Amanda Kimmel to play the game in tournaments around the world in a new reality program called Living The Life.
Living The Life was created by Josh Kimmel and the concept is as simple as they come: cameras follow two players around the world as they compete against each other in poker tournaments and various tests of skill and strength. A sort of The Amazing Race meets Poker After Dark. Cannatella may have a bit of an advantage here: she was a sponsored poker player who made it to the final table at the World Poker Tour’s WPT Invitational back in 2010. That said, Kimmel is definitely a Reality Show veteran who may be able to bring it when it comes to the non-poker elements of the show.
Kimmel competed in Survivor: China in 2007, finishing third and came in second in Survivor: Micronesia the next year. Her third attempt in Survivor: Heroes vs Villains ended with her getting bumped off relatively early, in 9th place, but her attitude towards competitive reality programming hasn’t dimmed a bit.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, creator Kimmel said “They’re both extremely competitive and they don’t like to lose. If they lose and they go up to their hotel room and smash the TV set, that’s interesting to me.”
The show is currently filming at the EPT stop in Barcelona and there are plans to shoot in Los Angeles and Las Vegas in the next couple of months. It’s not been picked up by any network yet, but it is being shopped aggressively by Kimmel’s production company.
