The NFL is clearly an acronym for the National Football League

While the NFL is clearly an acronym for the National Football League, you can’t discount the international reach and popularity of America’s greatest game. Before you try and argue that basketball or figure skating is superior, why don’t you keep in mind that the league manages to captivate the world, and rather handily I might add, with a schedule that is somewhat short by comparison. I’m talking about both from a spectator standpoint and among those who are inclined to place nfl football bets.

Not only does the regular season schedule occupy a mere four months on the calendar, with an extra month of playoffs and super bowl excitement, but teams play a single game a week, not counting that coveted week off, which isn’t exactly football’s version of spring break. Compare that to basketball or hockey and their 82 game schedule. Baseball by contrast features 162 regular games with play on most nights during its six month schedule, not even factoring an additional two months for the postseason and spring training. It might sound like a recipe worth wagering on, but nfl football bets tend to have more excitement. That’s probably why even casual viewers are always talking about covering the spread. That’s what you get when you choose a series of momentous sprints over what can be a meaningless marathon.

While it’s easy to focus on that jam-packed Sunday slate, budgeting some cash for the massive Monday night game can easily cure the monotony of a newly minted week. Of course, if you win big with your weekend nfl football bets, there’s no need to wait six days to showcase your mastery. When you factor the addition of Thursday night action, who even needs to follow other sports? It makes you wonder if the hockey powers that be realize that they just can’t hold a candle to the gridiron. Talk about icing on someone else’s cake.
