Five races into the Chase for the Sprint Cup it’s Brad Keselowski seven points up on Jimmie Johnson and 15 points up on Denny Hamlin atop the driver standings, and each of those three have managed to pay off on the NASCAR odds at Kansas Speedway in the past.
Keselowski won the STP 400 at Kansas in June 2011, while Johnson won the fall race at the track in both 2008 and 2011. Hamlin visited Victory Lane at the venue most recently, taking the checkered flag in the STP 400 back in April.
Martin Truex Jr., Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch made up the rest of the Top 10 in that April race, while Keselowski had to settle for an 11th-place finish that day.
Clint Bowyer has never taken the checkered flag at Kansas in his Cup career, but he did manage to win the Bank of America 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway last weekend and now sits only 28 points behind Keselowski in fourth place in the Sprint Cup standings.
Greg Biffle, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon – who are 43, 50, and 50 points, respectively, behind Keselowski in the Chase standings, have each won twice in Cup events at Kansas in the past and will be gunning to pay out on the NASCAR lines at the track on Sunday.
