Oklahoma’s national title hopes disappeared with last week’s shocking home blowout loss to Notre Dame, but the Sooners still have a legitimate shot at a BCS bowl if they can win out. However, Iowa State has been known to surprise a team or two at home. Oklahoma is an 11-point favorite on Vegassportsbetting.com.

The Sooners (5-2, 3-1) were beaten 30-13 by the Irish. Landry Jones threw for 356 yards with no touchdowns for the Sooners. Jalen Saunders caught 15 passes for 181 yards in just his third game with the team.

The Sooners never could get their offense producing points, rushing for just 15 yards, and Bob Stoops was denied his chance to tie Bud Wilkinson for second-place in school history with his 145th career win.

Meanwhile, ISU’s Steele Jantz tied school records for completions (36) and touchdown tosses (5) to help the Cyclones (5-3, 2-3 Big 12) win its Homecoming match-up vs. Baylor 35-21. Jantz was on target all night, finding 10 different receivers for a career-high 381 passing yards.

His 381 yards through the air is the fifth-best total in school history and his 36-of-52 performance ties ISU’s completion mark with Austen Arnaud. Jantz connected with Jarvis West three times for touchdowns, as West had seven catches for 99 yards. Jantz’s five touchdown tosses equals Todd Bandhauer’s school mark set in 1998 vs. Texas. ISU ended the game with 557 yards of total offense. ISU also got its rushing attack back on track, churning out 176 yards on the ground. Shontrelle Johnson had 73 yards on 16 carries to lead all Cyclone rushers.

The Sooners have won three straight Big 12 games, while Iowa State is looking to post consecutive conference wins. OU has outscored its last three conference opponents by a 156-48 margin (52.0-16.0 ppg).

Oklahoma has outgained its last three Big 12 foes in total yardage (1,454-958), rushing (557-348) and passing (897-610), while posting a +6 (9 takes/3 gives) turnover diferential. OU forced three takeaways in each of those games. Jones is 65-105 for 871 yards with seven TDs and one INT (151.7 rating) in Big 12 play this season.

The Sooners have won 13 straight contests vs. ISU, including a 7-0 mark under Stoops. OU posted a 26-6 home win last year. Iowa State’s last victory over OU was a 33-31 decision in Norman (10/20/90).

Vegas trends: Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. Sooners are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings. Favorite is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
