The Los Angeles Dodgers have been one of the hottest teams in the Major Leagues in June, not to mention most of May.

The Los Angeles Angels snapped their winning streak at ten games in the first game of this series, but the Dodgers bounced back for a 4-0 win on Tuesday.

Heading into Wednesday’s games they’d won 15 of their last 17. They are an incredible 37-13 since May 5th.

This is a team with a seemingly endless supply of starting pitchers, as ace Clayton Kershaw is the only one who’s made each of his starts this year.

The offense has taken off ever since super rookie Cody Bellinger was called up in late April, and to everyone’s great surprise his arrival has helped a dramatic ascent to the top of the standings.

The Dodgers are fifth in the Majors for runs scored this month at 5.56 RPG. They are second with a 3.40 ERA.

Bellinger has an astounding 27 RBIs and 13 homers this month. There are six Dodgers with at least ten RBIs and five regulars hitting at least .300 in June. Justin Turner has also been phenomenal with a .400 average in 15 games since returning from injury.

The Angels are battlers. Mike Trout, the perennial MVP candidate is on his first ever disabled list and the Angels keep finding ways to win- a little more often than not.

What’s more they’ve become streak busters in June. They took two of three in Houston earlier in the month when the Astros were red hot. They broke the Yankees winning streak and took two of three at home in the following series, before breaking the Dodgers streak.

All told they’ve won five of their last six series heading into this one, with wins over Detroit, Houston, the Yankees (twice) and Boston.

The Angels are eighth in June in the Majors with a 4.18 ERA. The hitting is 14th averaging 4.88 RPG.

Kole Calhoun (.330-5-21) is having a huge month, pacing an offense that has six players with at least 10 RBIs.

Clayton Kershaw (11-2, 2.47 ERA) is rounding into CY Young form and the Dodgers have won his last ten starts. He’s 4-0 in June and has won seven in a row. He was roughed up two starts ago, but in his four other June starts he’s yielded four earned runs in 27 innings pitched.

J.C. Ramirez (7-5, 4.38 ERA) has been up and down this month. He gave up one run in six innings of a 6-3 win over the Red Sox last time out. He also allowed just two runs in downing the Yankees. But in his three other June starts he gave up 16 runs in 12.1 innings.

Cash It In: The Dodgers are -215 favorites, the Angels +185 underdogs. Ramirez can be great on any given night, but given the way Kershaw is rolling, it’s hard to go against that. Dodgers 5-2.
