Action Report: Bet shares favoring Packers in NFC showdown

USA Today Sports

Two of the more popular teams in the NFL square off on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field as the Green Bay Packers host the Dallas Cowboys to kick off Sunday’s Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.

Online sports book Pinnacle Sports opened the Pack as 6.5-point home favorites before dropping to -6, then -5.5. The line spent a little time at -5 earlier Sunday but was then adjusted back to -5.5 not long ago.

According to a spokesperson from Pinnacle Sports, the book’s bet share favors Green Bay, but it looks like more money is coming in on the Cowboys.

“No huge movements on these markets, all staying within reach of their opening odds,” Pinnacle’s spokesperson says. “The Cowboys +5.5 has, however, gotten more expensive, opening at +107, and now Even, suggesting more money on that side despite the BetShare favoring Green Bay.”

Pinnacle states that Green Bay is seeing 54.3 percent of the action in spread markets, while a whopping 76.2 percent of action in moneyline markets are backing the visiting Cowboys.

As far as the total is concerned, Pinnacle opened the matchup at 53 and that dropped to as low as 51 before climbing back to 52 earlier Sunday. Pinnacle cites that 67.8 percent of bets in the totals market were on the Over at the 51.5 number.
