Houston Texans

The Texans were active this off-season in regards to acquisition and building a roster. In this year’s draft selection, Houston picked-up three potential players that are predicted to have a great future in the NFL; 1st rounder CB Kevin Johnson from Wake Forest,  2nd rounder ILB Benardrick McKinney from Mississippi State and 3rd rounder WR Jaelen Strong from Arizona State. All three rookies were considered the top 5 players of the draft in their respective position. The Texans were also very active during free agency by picking up big-time players that can contribute a lot to the team. In that list includes players such as QB Brian Hoyer, WR Cecil Shorts, NT Vince Wilfork & FS Rahim Moore.  The Texans did a phenomenal job this off-season with their acquisition, most probably the best compared to the rest of the NFL. However, I doubt they take the division with the Colts in their way.

Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Houston Texans as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC South: +450
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC Conference: 22/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 8/1

Indianapolis Colts

This year, oddmakers have listed the Colts as the top favorite to win the AFC North Division & AFC Conference. Indianapolis added three major veteran players to their roster that can certainly contribute greatly to this Colts organization. This includes WR Andre Johnson, RB Frank Gore and OLB Trent Cole.  They were also able to acquire one of the best players from the CFL, WR Duron Carter (Aka son of Cris Carter) from the Montreal Alouettes. According to several sources, it isn’t looking to good for Carter; “his lack of special team skills is working against him and can draw interest on waivers if he doesn’t make final cuts”. At the end of the day, there is no doubt in my mind that the Indianapolis Colts will win the division.

Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Indianapolis Colts as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC South: -400
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC Conference: 3/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 8/1

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars suffered a big blow during training camp when they lost their 3rd overall draft pick OLB Dante Fowler Jr. from Florida for the entire season due to a torn ACL. The only major acquisition for Jacksonville was acquiring TE Julius Thomas; but it is unsure of how good he will play without Peyton Manning. They were also able to add FS Sergio Brown and CB Davon House; nothing big. Also consider that they have moved 2nd round draft pick RB TJ Yeldon as their starter, something to consider for fantasy owners. When it comes to odds, the Jaguars are considered the biggest underdog to win the AFC North, AFC Conference & the Superbowl. In other words, they are considered as the worst team in the NFL.
Recommended: Don’t put your money on the career killing Jaguars!

Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Jacksonville Jaguars as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC South: +1600
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC Conference: 100/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 200/1

Tennessee Titans

Surprisingly, with the turnaround the Titans took this off-season, Tennessee is considered the 2nd worst team in the NFL (after the Jaguars). The Titans had the 2nd overall pick in this year draft and made a big commitment by drafting QB Marcus Mariota from Oregon who is predicted to being the future of this franchise. They also drafted a top receiver in Dorial Green-Beckham from Missouri who has already taken his spot as a 2nd slot receiver and shown impressive skills at training camp. Can’t wait to see what these two rookies can bring to the field. The titans also did a good job during free agency by picking up big-time players such as OLB Brian Orakpo. Orakpo is a monster on field and can certainly help the Titans weak defense in many ways. Tennessee was also able to acquire TE Anthony Fasano, WR Harry Douglas & WR Hakeem Nicks; not any major acquisitions but can certainly contribute to the Titans offense. In light of this, oddsmakers have underrated the titans capabilities with the odds listed considering their current roster.

Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Tennessee Titans as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC South: +1400
Odds to win the 2015-16 AFC Conference: 75/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 200/1
