AP Top 25: Michigan State is new No. 1, followed by Kansas, UNC, Iowa St.

There is consensus in the coaches and AP poll this week, as Michigan State is now at the top of the rankings thanks to Kentucky’s loss at UCLA on Thursday.

This means the Spartans have the No. 1 team in the country in hoops and the No. 3 team in the country in football. Amazing stuff.

Here’s what awaits in the immediate future: a top-10 battle on Monday night. Villanova and Oklahoma play each other in Hawaii as part of the Pearl Harbor Invitational.

Elsewhere, Providence and Baylor both bumped up high in the polls after they went unbeaten last week. Iowa State is still sort of flying under the radar at No. 4, as is undefeated West Virginia at No. 14. Utah only spent one week out of the poll, but after its win over BYU, climbed back in. Butler is now in the mix too.
