The National League Championship series gets underway
at Busch Stadium Saturday evening, and bettors are siding with
Cards’ ace Adam Wainwright and the home team in the
opener.

Action in the American League series has been a bit one-sided
with 95 percent of runline bettors on the Baltimore Orioles
in Game 1 and 78 percent of runline support on Baltimore in
Game 2. According to a spokesperson from
Pinnacle Sports, the Red Birds are seeing some big
support on the spread.

“Despite the high spread bet percentage on the Cardinals, we
saw their price go from -1.5 (+176) at open to -1.5 (+195)
early,”
Pinnacle’s spokesperson says. “That price has since gone
to -1.5 2.88, but the guess would be that there was serious
money on San Francisco early.”

On the moneyline, the Cards are the preferred side with 62 of
bets behind them.

The pitching matchup should be a good one as the home team
sends Wainwright to the mound while the visitors counter with
Madison Bumgarner. The battle of staff aces is leading to
bettors supporting the Under.

“Totals bettors seem to love the pitching matchup here, with
respective aces Madison Bumgarner and Adam Wainwright
creating the rare situation where Under gets more bets than
Over,” Pinnacle’s spokesperson says. “Rarer still is that
happening when our Over price is the best in the industry.
Over opened 1.81 and is now 1.91, suggesting money keeps
coming in on Under.”
