Bettors loving the Over in Giants-Pirates matchup – 09-30-2014

The San Francisco Giants face off against the
Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park Wednesday with the right to be
called the sole NL Wild Card winner, and the stakes couldn’t be
higher with a date for the National League Divisional Series on
the line.

In a win or go home game, online sportsbook is
seeing the majority of the action on the Giants.

“We’re seeing 67 percent of all moneyline wagers being placed
on San Francisco,” said Brad Kennedy, an oddsmaker for the
book. “Sixty-two percent of all spread bets are also on the
Giants.” The current line is -1.5 (+155).

San Francisco sends Madison Bumgarner (18-10, 2.98 ERA) to
the mound, while the Bucs will counter with Edinson Volquez
(13-7, 3.04 ERA). The vast majority of bettors at
aren’t expecting to see a pitching duel, however.

“Eighty percent of the total action is on the game going
Over,” Kennedy said. “The line opened at six, but we had to
make an adjustment to 6.5 on Tuesday.”
