Bettors on Cardinals as huge home dogs on Sunday Night Football

USA Today Sports

The Arizona Cardinals entered Sunday with the most wins in the NFC (11, since tied by the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers), but with third-string quarterback Ryan Lindley under center, found themselves as huge home underdogs against their NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks.

That’s not scaring off bettors who are backing the Cardinals (+9) in fairly convincing numbers.

According to a spokesperson from Pinnacle Sports, 69.2 percent of bettors are supporting the Cards in spread markets, while 61.5 percent are backing them in moneyline markets. That said, as Pinnacle’s spokesperson notes, respected money is coming in on the Seahawks.

“Our price on Cardinals +9 is an industry-best at +101, and bettors are responding,” Pinnacle’s spokesperson says. “That price opened the day at -132, so there appears to be some very serious money on Seattle.”

The total is presently the lowest of the season at 36.5, but that’s not scaring off bettors either.

“It also appears no one expects much scoring with one of the lowest totals of the year not scaring away Under bettors,” the book’s spokesperson says. “Under 36.5 opened at +114 and now sits at -103.”
