Boxing betting action for the month of February 2015 will feature numerous fight cards from around the globe. Moneyline boxing odds are already available on February fights including the next betting opportunity on one of boxing’s most talented champions.
On February 14 Brian Rose (26-2-1, 8 KO’s) will be a heavy favorite to win the vacant WBC International Lightweight title over Carson Jones (36-10-3, 25 KO’s). Rose is currently a -500 favorite at 5Dimes and Bodog while upset action on Jones will pay +400.
Rose seems to be fully recovered from his beatdown loss at the hands of Demetrious Andrade last summer and should have his way with an opponent who has only recorded one win in his last four bouts.
On the same night undefeated Lightweight Terry Flanagan (26-0, 10 KO’s) will face Stephen Ormond (17-1, 8 KO’s) for his WBA European Lightweight title. Current odds have Flanagan handicapped as the -245 favorite, a price that looks like a bargain on one of the best young stars in the division.
Ormond has not faced anyone thus far in his career that comes close to the calibre of Flanagan, making the +185 underdog payday seem a little weak in value. The -245 boxing odds price may be some of the cheapest action available on Flanagan that we see for a while if he is able to win this title and is unable to gain a world championship fight in the near future.
The big boxing odds event for the month of February is scheduled to go down on February 21 when undefeated WBA, WBC and IBO Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28 KO’s) defends his titles against Martin Murray (29-1-1, 12 KO’s).
Current odds on Golovkin are coming with a -2150 price at 5Dimes, but the OVER/UNDER line is set at 7.5 rounds. The -130 price on the UNDER looks to have more value when one factors in how many Golovkin fights (23) end in the early rounds.
