Bracketology Bubble Tracker: Wisconsin falls to Michigan State

Wisconsin’s seven-game winning streak came to a crashing end at Michigan State Thursday night.

The Badgers profile isn’t materially damaged by losing in East Lansing, but when you have a highly damaged profile to begin with, every loss hurts.

DOUBLE-BUBBLE GAME: Tulsa 70, Cincinnati 68

Tulsa and Cincinnati needed overtime and the Golden Hurricane won when a Shaq Thomas shot at the buzzer bounced off the rim. It was a game that both teams needed, but Tulsa needed it a little more. Each team has a few good wins and one regrettable loss. Both are just one game above .500 against the top 200 teams in the RPI. Tulsa has the easier schedule down the stretch, but that may not be an advantage when you need quality wins.

UCONN: Won 68-62 vs. SMU

Record: 19-7, 9-4 AAC

The Huskies picked up their best win of the season tonight 68-62 over SMU. The win pulls UConn even against the top 50 and top 100 in the RPI and allows them a little bit of a cushion as they approach their schedule at the end of the season.

WASHINGTON: Lost 78-75 vs. California

Record: 15-11, 7-7 Pac-12

Washington’s chances for an at-large bid are on life support after a loss at home to Cal. The Huskies are just four games above .500, which is the bare minimum to get an at-large bid, historically speaking. They are going to have to win some tough games down the stretch to give themselves a chance.
