The month of June will feature lots of boxing betting opportunities for the savvy fight fan. However, the big fight of the month will be for the vacant WBO title between Timothy Bradley (31-1-1, 12 KO’s) and Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9 KO’s) on June 27, and boxing odds are already available at Bodog.
The undefeated Vargas is currently a +285 underdog at Bodog to beat Bradley, who is currently handicapped as the -375 favorite. This fight is a classic matchup of an old guard fighter looking to reestablish himself against one of the best young fighters in the Welterweight division. Both fighters lack big punching power, and both will look to win the fight with technique and pace.
Bradley should be the more technical boxer, but he could have difficulty keeping up with the pressure Vargas is sure to bring. Expect this one to go the distance, so keep your eye out at Bodog for any boxing odds prop bet action that might become available as the fight nears.
June will also feature an interesting fight between Daniel Geale (31-3, 16 KO’s) and Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KO’s) for the WBC Middleweight title. Cotto is currently a heavy -750 favorite to win at Bodog, while action on Geale will pay +475.
Cotto will hold a big edge in the power department and could easily finish his opponent with one good flurry of punches. Geale suffered his first KO loss last year, showing that he no longer has the chin that kept him in so many fights in the past. We expect Cotto to finish Geale, likely within the first six or seven rounds.
