But because of the line of work they’re in, they had to work Saturday night. Until 3 a.m. Yet somehow, Sunday afternoon, they’re at the Superbook.
“We had a 6 a.m. flight,” said Steinke, no worse for the wear. “I feel great.”
And what’s he think of his Patriots, who were locked in a 0-0 tie with the Seahawks at that point, with Brady having thrown an interception in the end zone.
“I feel good about them, despite that early interception,” Steinke said. “He got it out of the way early, clearing out the cobwebs. I’m not concerned. My confidence is unshakeable.”
Troy Steinke is give the thumbs up after traveling to Vegas early Sunday morning.
Sporting a Tom Brady jersey, Steinke said his best bet is a prop that Pats tight end Rob Gronkowski would have between 91 and 100 receiving yards, at +800.
“Most of my bets are on Patriots offensive stats – ‘Overs’ all over the place,” he said.
So how does a guy from Calgary become such a huge Patriots fan?
“I used to live with a girl from Boston – she was a speedskater for the U.S. national team,” he said. “She was a die-hard Patriots fan, and I wasn’t allowed to cheer for anyone else. I stuck with them. I love the Belichick system.”
He had no concern over the deflated football controversy, either.
“Deflaters gonna deflate,” he said.
