Casino lights in Las Vegas to dim in tribute to late Jerry Tarkanian

Several casinos along the Las Vegas Strip will dim their lights this week for former UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian, who died Feb. 11 at age 84.

The casinos participating in the tribute include all Caesars Entertainment Corp. and MGM Resorts properties, Cosmopolitan, Stratosphere, Tropicana, Venetian and Palazzo. The tribute will take place at 10:30 p.m. PT Wednesday for a few minutes following UNLV’s game against Boise State, per the Associated Press.

Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ronald Reagan have also received this Vegas tribute.

Tarkanian coached the Rebels from 1973-1992. He led UNLV to a national title during the 1989-90 season. He totaled 509 wins as UNLV’s coach and finished his college coaching career with a .790 winning percentageسلوتس.
