CFL Week 20 Trends and Betting Preview

The CFL concludes its regular-season schedule this week with four betting matchups on tap, including a key contest in Ottawa between the RedBlacks and the Tiger-Cats on Saturday. Here’s a look at the odds and betting trends for Week 20 of the CFL season.

Winnipeg at Toronto – Friday, November 6

Last 10 Meetings: Toronto 8-2 SU, 6-3-1 ATS | OU 6-4

The Argonauts are 5-1 SU in their last six games against the Blue Bombers and 3-1 ATS in the last four meetings between the teams as they hit the gridiron together on Friday night. Toronto topped Winnipeg 27-20 and covered the 4.5-point spread on the road in their first meeting of the season on August 14, in an UNDER result for totals bettors. The Bombers, at just 5-12 SU on the season and missing the playoffs, are a modest 8-8-1 ATS through 17 games.

At 5Dimes the Argonauts are listed as 4-point favorites against the Blue Bombers.

Hamilton at Ottawa – Saturday, November 7

Last 10 Meetings: Ottawa 1-3 SU, 2-2 ATS | OU 2-2

First place in the East Division will be on the line on Saturday as the RedBlacks take on the Tiger-Cats for the second time in two weeks. Ottawa knocked off Hamilton 12-6 as a 5-point road underdog in their first meeting of the season last week in a clear UNDER result for totals bettors. Ottawa is 11-6 both SU and ATS on the season and holds a one-game lead in the East standings; Hamilton is 10-7 SU but also 11-6 ATS, with the UNDER paying off in 12 of their 17 games.

At 5Dimes the RedBlacks are listed as 3.5-point favorites against the Tiger-Cats.

Calgary at B.C. – Saturday, November 7

Last 10 Meetings: B.C. 3-7 SU, 4-6 ATS | OU 7-3

The Lions have lost three straight games against the Stampeders heading into their matchup on Saturday, although B.C. did manage to just cover the spread in their first meeting of this season back on September 18 – a 35-23 Stampeders home victory as a 13-point favorite. Calgary, despite its 13-4 SU record on the season, is just 6-11 ATS, while B.C. is 10-7 ATS despite its 7-10 SU mark. Three of the last four games between the teams have been OVER results.

At 5Dimes the Stampeders are listed as 1-point favorites against the Lions.

Saskatchewan at Montreal – Sunday, November 8

Last 10 Meetings: Montreal 6-4 SU, 7-3 ATS | OU 4-6

Both the Roughriders and the Alouettes will miss the playoffs this season as they close out the CFL’s regular-season schedule on Sunday. Saskatchewan beat Montreal 33-21 as a 2-point home underdog in the first meeting of the season between the two teams on September 27, in an OVER result for totals bettors. The Alouettes, however, had covered the posted spread in each of the previous six games between the two teams dating back to 2012.

At 5Dimes the Alouettes are listed as 9-point favorites against the Roughriders.
