For the third consecutive week, Michigan State is the No. 1 team in the country. But things are about to get tough for them with Denzel Valentine’s injury.
The Spartans are out to a terrific start, and garnered 29 first-place votes. Oklahoma is at No. 2, and the only other team with first-place votes. Kansas, Maryland, and Virginia round out the top five.
Xavier is No. 6 team, followed by North Carolina and Arizona, each of whom rose four spots. The next three are Iowa State, Duke and Kentucky, each of whom fell at least four spots, with Iowa State and Kentucky plummetting seven. Below them, Butler moved up six spots to No. 12.
This poll was a bit strange as well given the crazy weekend that just occurred, as no new teams entered the poll and no new teams fell out of the poll.
