The top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (13-0), 54-16 winners over the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship game, will be matched up with the fourth ranked Washington Huskies (12-1), 41-10 winners over the Colorado Buffaloes in the PAC-12 final. Oddsmakers opened the Crimson Tide as big 14-point favorites in this New Year’s Eve game that will be played as the Peach Bowl in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. That opening number of -14 was quickly bumped up to -14.5 at most books after an hour or so on the board, and has even gotten as high as -15 at some shops.
The No. 2 ranked team is the Clemson Tigers (12-1), 42-35 winners over the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC Championship game, and they will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1), second place finishers in the extremely competitive Big Ten East division. Oddsmakers opened the Buckeyes as 3-point favorites in the Fiesta Bowl that will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on December 31.
The winner of each semifinal will meet in the National Championship game which will take place January 9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
