The Michigan State Spartans are 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS in their last 12 games at home. The Spartans hope to keep that home success rolling when they host the Oregon Ducks this Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
Early action on the Spartans has moved the line from a pick’em to Michigan State going off as a 3.5-point favorite at BetOnline.
With both of these teams projecting out as potential playoff teams, it will be interesting to see which team is able to overcome this early-season obstacle. Vernon Adams’ experience as a fifth-year starter should come in handy in this hostile road environment.
LSU Starts Season as Road Favorite
LSU will also have to deal with a hostile road environment as the cowbells will be out in full force when the Tigers visit the Mississippi State Bulldogs this weekend.
LSU opens its season as a 3-point road favorite and is 3-1 SU and ATS in its last four September games. The Tigers were supposed to play McNeese State in Week 1, but that game ended up being cancelled due to lightning.
Tigers running back Leonard Fournette will have the chance to kick his Heisman campaign off with a bang in back-to-back meaningful games against Mississippi State this week and Auburn next week.
As well, Tennessee hosts Oklahoma in an interesting matchup between two sleeper teams that some are predicting could have big seasons. This one is going off as a pick’em at 5Dimes.
If Tennessee’s season-opening 59-30 win over Bowling Green is any indication, there could be plenty of offensive fireworks in this one. The total has gone OVER in each of Oklahoma’s last five road games according to the OddsShark College Football Database.
Clemson Slipping on Betting Lines
It is interesting to see the Clemson Tigers going off at just -17 hosting the Appalachian State Mountaineers, down from an opening line of -21. Appalachian State is riding a 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 hot streak coming into this game, but that comes against teams with much less talent than the Tigers.
Finally, Everett Golson looked extremely sharp in leading the Florida State Seminoles to a 59-16 win and cover against Texas State last week.
The Seminoles will once again be a big favorite at home on the college football betting lines this Saturday at -27.5 against the South Florida Bulls. Florida State is 15-0 SU over its last 15 home games but just 2-6 ATS over its last eight.
