College Football Week 8 Expert Picks

The Utah State Aggies are 12-0 straight up in their last 12 games as a road favorite and 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games as a road favorite. The Aggies will be going for another win and cover this Friday night at Qualcomm Stadium against the San Diego State Aztecs.

Utah State is a 5-point road favorite according to online sportsbook 5Dimes. Both of these teams are 3-0 SU and ATS over their last three games, but the Aggies are rolling on offense averaging 47 points per game over their last three contests. With fairly evenly-matched defenses, Utah State’s superior offense should give the Aggies the upper-hand in this one.

utes the choice against usc on odds

Sticking with another team in the state of Utah, I like the Utes as a 3.5-point underdog on the road this Saturday against the USC Trojans. USC is 1-3 SU and ATS over its last four games and has struggled with consistency all year long; an issue that isn’t likely to be corrected against the super consistent Utes. Utah is 8-1 ATS in its last nine games on the road, and has a great chance of winning this game outright in addition to just covering the spread.

Before Northwestern got destroyed in back-to-back games against Michigan and Iowa, the Wildcats were 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their previous five games this season and allowing only seven points per game. The Wildcats should be able to find that form again this week as a 7.5-point underdog on the road against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Three of the last four games between these two teams have been decided by a field goal or less.

Arkansas and smu round out ats picks

Arkansas is 13-5 ATS over its last 18 games and is a 6-point favorite at home against Auburn this Saturday. I like the Razorbacks to top the struggling Tigers this week. Auburn has covered the spread just once in its last 11 games.

The Southern Methodist Mustangs are only 1-5 SU, but they are playing much better than last year and have a 4-2 ATS record to show for it. Averaging 30.8 points per game this season, SMU has enough firepower to cover as a 12-point underdog at South Florida.
