Iowa obliterates Nebraska: There is taking care of business, and then there is the nasty business Iowa put on Nebraska. The Hawkeyes ended the first half with a 21-2 run that Huskers coach Tim Miles called in a halftime tweet “disgusting” on their way to a 74-46 win. Iowa avoids adding another bad loss to its resume.
Oregon picks up best win vs. Utah: Oregon put a big feather in its cap today with a 69-58 win over Utah on Senior Day in Eugene. That gives the Ducks six wins in their last seven games. Since it’s Senior Day, that means Oregon has nothing but road games left, and they won’t be easy, so there is still work to do for the Ducks.
Temple gets blown out at Tulsa: Temple losing at Tulsa isn’t the end of the world. Getting embarrassed isn’t good though. The Owls have two wins to hang their hat on, and both are at home. One is Kansas, which is why they have a shot at all.
For Tulsa, they completed the season sweep of the Owls, which remains the Golden Hurricane’s two best wins. That probably has to change if they’re going to stay in the bracket.
Michigan State gets revenge at Illinois: Just two weeks ago, Illinois went into East Lansing and got an important win for its tournament profile. Today, Michigan State returned the favor. The Spartans beat the Illini in Champaign 60-53 to avenge that loss. It also adds a decent road win to the Spartans’s resume.
