Daily Bubble: Xavier falls at St. John’s in the final seconds

St. John’s 58, Xavier 57: Xavier had its chances, including the final shot, but fell short at St. John’s 58-57. The Musketeers dominated the first part of each half, scoring the first 11 points of the game, only to trail by eight at halftime. Then, Xavier started the second half with a 15-2 run to regain the lead, only to give it up again. It’s hard to win on the road when you turn it over 20 times.

It’s a tough loss for Xavier in bracket terms, considering that Villanova is next, then a road game at Creighton, who beat the Musketeers at home, followed by the conference tournament.
