Djokovic the Favorite at Shanghai Masters

Fresh off a tournament win at the China Open, Novak Djokovic once again finds himself in familiar territory as the favorite to win the 2015 Shanghai Masters. Djokovic won the event in both 2012 and 2013 and currently sits as a -200 favorite according to Bodog.

The man who captured the tournament in 2010 and 2011, Andy Murray, is a distant second to Djokovic at +550, followed by Stan Wawrinka (+800) and Rafael Nadal (+1400). Murray lost to Djokovic in the 2012 finals and the two are lined up to meet in the semifinals if they make it that far. Djokovic has gotten the better of Murray throughout their careers, with a head-to-head record of 19-9, while also going 17-7 vs Murray on hard courts.

Nadal is the eighth seed in the tourney and has never placed higher than second at the tournament. Nadal was the runner-up in last week’s China Open.

Roger Federer, who won the event last year was the number two seed in the tournament, but was eliminated in the second round by Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
