Duke loses at Clemson, falls to 21st in updated Top 25 (and one)

Duke lost its top four scorers from last season’s team. And now Amile Jefferson is hurt. So the Blue Devils are actually operating without their top five scorers from last season’s team, and Mike Krzyzewski summarized things reasonably after Wednesday’s loss at Clemson.

“We’re not a great team,” said the Hall of Fame coach. “We’re a good team.”

Thus, perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise that Duke now has two losses to currently unranked teams without a single win over a currently ranked team to offset them. The Blue Devils are 2-2 against KenPom’s top 50, just 4-3 against the top 80. So the resume is a little light. And that’s why Duke is down to No. 21 in the updated CBS Sports Top 25 (and one).
