Duke transfer Rasheed Sulaimon has committed to Maryland, sources said Monday.
Sulaimon is expected to finish up coursework this summer and be immediately eligible to play next season. Sulaimon unofficially visited the College Park campus this past weekend.
The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 7.5 points in 20 games this past year for the Blue Devils before being dismissed from the team on Jan. 29.
Duke then went on to won its fifth national title under Mike Krzyzewski.
The addition of Sulaimon makes Maryland the preseason favorite in the Big Ten and potentially the nation’s No. 1 team heading into the 2014-15 season.
