Every now and again, we see a story come out about an athlete or a coach helping someone in danger. An unexpected encounter that leads to a safe ending.

The most recent example is emanating from Louisville, where director of communications for men’s basketball Kenny Klein tweeted on Monday night:

Harrell was with Louisville for three seasons, leaving school last spring and taken 32nd by the Houston Rockets in June’s NBA Draft. Harrell helped Louisville win a national title in 2012-13. Last season, he put up 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

While the Rockets took him in June, he’s yet to sign a deal with the club. He’s been in Louisville, training and awaiting the start of the NBA’s preseason.
