Look, predicting a pre-tournament winner in golf isn’t easy. While it’s true sports bettors can find fantastic value, it’s incredibly frustrating when one of your picks doesn’t even make the cut. That’s why I’m here to help.
Every week I’ll highlight three golfers who have a good chance to win the hardware for the upcoming weekend. This week it’s the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Brooks Koepka (+1200)
Koepka is an absolute horse at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, as he boasts T-19, T-3 and T-2 finishes at the tournament in the last three years. In that span, he’s posted a scoring average of 68.17. That’s good enough for me to take him at +1200.
Koepka is third on the PGA Tour in birdie-or-better percentage and par-5 scoring which will be key at this event. He’s not in great form right now after missing the top 30 in the last two weeks, but there hasn’t been a better spot for him to bounce back and get back in the winner’s circle.
Francesco Molinari (+1800)
Molinari is fantastic with his irons and excels around the greens, hitting them at a clip of 68.5 percent in his past two events. He’s always been known as a poor putter, but the good news for bettors is the FedEx St. Jude Classic is not a tournament where you need to kill it with the flat stick to win.
With its positioning right before the U.S. Open, the field is pretty weak for PGA Tour standards and Molinari has more raw talent than almost anyone else who will be teeing it up this weekend.
Kyle Stanley (+2500)
One of the best ball-strikers on the PGA Tour, Stanley has quietly been elevating himself to the upper echelon in the game this year. He’s far from a household name yet, but he is playing well right now after finishing in a tie for sixth at the Memorial and a tie for fourth at the PLAYERS.
Stanley’s game fits the course perfectly, so I’m more than happy taking him at the +2500 price to win outright pre-tournament.
