Five former Louisville basketball players and recruits told ESPN’s Outside the Lines that the gist of Katina Powell’s book alleging she provided dancers and escorts at the request of former UL staff member Andre McGee is true.
“It was crazy,” one former recruit told Outside the Lines. “It was like I was in a strip club.”
A source previously told CBS Sports that former Louisville recruit JaQuan Lyle told the NCAA much the same thing earlier this month.
Powell spoke with Outside the Lines on camera and detailed many of the same allegations she made in a book published earlier this month, but nothing new. She provided incriminating text messages she exchanged with McGee that she had previously written about, which Outside the Lines reported it was able to independently confirm.
Louisville officials subsequently declined comment.
Powell’s attorneys are expected to meet with Louisville officials Tuesday.
The NCAA’s investigation into the allegations remains open, a source told CBS Sports.
