Former Tennessee men’s basketball coach Donnie Tyndall has accepted an offer to serve as an associate AD at Tennessee Wesleyan College, a source told CBS Sports on Monday.
A formal announcement is expected soon.
Tennessee Wesleyan is an NAIA school in Athens, Tenn.
Tyndall — who will technically be a volunteer associate athletic director, a source said — was fired in March after one season at Tennessee because of an NCAA investigation into the program he previously ran at Southern Miss. The NCAA subsequently sent a notice of allegations to USM that alleged seven Level I violations in a 43-page report. The school is expected to go before the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions in early 2016.
