Bursting onto the scene this clay court season, Dominic Thiem could establish himself as one of the best tennis players in the world with a quarterfinal win over the defending French Open champion, Novak Djokovic. The Austrian will be the betting underdog in the effort but should be considered a real threat to take out the Joker.
– Shark BITES
- Thiem is 21-4 on clay in 2017.
- Djokovic has a 5-0 career record against Dominic Thiem and beat him 6-1, 6-0 back in May.
- Thiem made it to the semifinals of last year’s French Open.
Clearly doing his best work on clay, Thiem could finally get the best of Djokovic in Tuesday’s meeting. This is the sixth-seeded Austrian’s best showing at a Grand Slam since he got all the way to the semis at Roland Garros last year but with a potential matchup against Rafael Nadal ahead of him, it’s incredibly unlikely that he improves on that 2016 showing.
Novak, on the other hand, has stumbled a few times so far and he’s still showing some of the rust that he’s been trying to shake off since he changed coaches in the month of May. This match has upset written all over it and there’s a decent +165 line awaiting you over at Bovada if you agree.
|Thiem||+1.5 (+105)||+165||OVER 3.5 (-180)|
|Djokovic||-1.5 (-135)||-200||UNDER 3.5 (+140)|
