“We opened Jags -3, thinking that number was plenty high for a game involving two lousy 2-12 teams, but that hasn’t been the case,” says Peter Childs of Sportsbook.ag. “Money has poured in on the Jags, forcing us off the key number of 3 to 3.5 late [Wednesday] afternoon and eventually to -4 early [Thursday].”
The Jaguars are 2-2 against the spread in the past two weeks, but have not been favored in a game since Week 4 in the 2012 season.
“I can’t believe the kind of public and one sided support we’re seeing on this game, but we’re going into tonight’s game needing the Titans in a big way,” Childs says. “Roughly 80 percent of the action is on the Jags.”
The total action has been more even, but under action has forced the opening number from 41 to 39 Childs says.
