Houston’s L.J. Rose will not play on the team’s upcoming trip to China, Kelvin Sampson told CBS Sports on Friday.
The 6-foot-3 senior guard missed the final six games of last season after suffering a broken foot.
“He will not be cleared for any on-court activity until after Labor Day,” Sampson said.
A transfer from Baylor, Rose averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 assists per game in the 2014-15 season.
Houston finished 13-19 last season, but is expected to be one of the more improved teams in the American Conference in 2015-16.
