Kansas junior Brannen Greene has been suspended for six games for “conduct detrimental to the team” and thus will not accompany the Jayhawks to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational, coach Bill Self announced Friday morning.

Green is averaging 12.0 points per game this season.

He scored 18 points in a season-opening win over Northern Colorado.

Meantime, Self also announced that Cheick Diallo has been cleared to travel with the Jayhawks but still is not cleared to compete. Diallo is the reigning MVP of the McDonald’s All-American game. He’s the highest-profile prospect currently being held out of games.

Kansas is 1-1 and ranked fourth in the AP poll.

The Jayhawks lost to Michigan State earlier this week in Chicago.
