Kentucky takes another bad loss, drops out of the Top 25 (and one)

Kentucky lost at Tennessee on Tuesday night, which was a development that dropped the Wildcats’ record to 16-6. They’re now 3-3 in their past six games and in possession of a resume that features just two top-50 RPI wins and five losses to schools ranked outside of the top 70 — specifically UCLA, LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee and Auburn.

Simply put, that’s not good.

And just when it looked like the Wildcats might be turning the so-called corner.

This time last week, they were coming off of a nice victory at Arkansas and a dominant win over Vanderbilt, and they were getting ready to murder Missouri. UK subsequently took Kansas to OT at Allen Fieldhouse, and John Calipari’s team seemed strong.

Then came Tuesday night.

The Wildcats led by 21 but lost 84-77.

They are no longer ranked in the CBS Sports Top 25 (and one).
