Last 2 meetings, Utah has outscored Arizona State 85-19 in the first half

The last time Arizona State was in the Huntsman Center, the Sun Devils got blown away in the first half and trailed 41-9 at halftime. Utah won 83-41 on a bench-clearing night for the Utes.

A coaching change hasn’t changed Utah’s advantage in this matchup, apparently, as Bobby Hurley’s team found itself in a 44-10 hole at halftime during an 81-46 loss in Salt Lake City on Thursday night. This of course was one point short of a #singledigitwatch on Twitter during the first half — an “honor” that no team should hope for — but combined with last season’s trouncing (85-19) it’s quite an impressive trend for the Utes.

Utah got started by jumping out to a 15-0 lead (FIFTEEN TO ZERO!) with Brandon Taylor’s 3-pointer.

Jordan Loveridge had 14 first-half points, including four 3-pointers and this bucket off a steal.
