LOOK: Akron giving away bobbleheads with LeBron James in Zips’ uniform

Akron basketball is starting a bobblehead giveaway promotion on Tuesday which will honor two great Zips and one of the area’s most famous names in the history of sports: NBA champion and MVP LeBron James.

A bobblehead of Dru Joyce, an All-MAC player during his Akron career from 2004-07, will be handed out to 750 fans at Tuesday night’s game against Buffalo. His teammate, Romeo Travis, the only player in program history to be named MAC Player of the Year, will be honored with a bobblehead giveaway on Feb. 26 when Akron hosts Bowling Green in a game that can be seen on CBS Sports Network.

Then on March 1, Akron will give away bobbleheads of area native LeBron James for the Zips’ game against Ohio. The entire promotion was done in coordination with the LeBron James Family Foundation and the March 1 game will also include in-game activities to promote the Foundation’s Wheels for Education Program.

Akron will give away bobbleheads over the next month, including one for LeBron James. (Akron Athletics)
