Memorial Tournament Odds & Betting Preview

With the U.S. Open drawing closer, the PGA Tour continues to beef up its weekly tournaments on some iconic courses with no shortage of talent in the field. This weekend all eyes will be on the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

Bovada has tabbed Dustin Johnson as the +550 favorite to go all the way, with Jordan Spieth (+1100), Jon Rahm (+1200), Jason Day (+1400), Hideki Matsuyama (+1800), Justin Rose (+2000), Adam Scott (+2200), Rickie Fowler (+2500), Brooks Koepka (+3300) and Justin Thomas (+3300) comprising the rest of the top 10.

Seven of the top 10 in the world rankings and 18 of the 30 best players in the world will be teeing it up at the event. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy committed initially but was forced to withdraw less than a week out after a flareup of the rib injury that sidelined him earlier this season.

William McGirt, who’s available at +7500 odds, collected his first PGA Tour victory at the Memorial Tournament a year ago after going bogey-free for his final 22 holes to best Jon Curran on the second hole of the playoff. The South Carolina native parred his final four holes to earn the win.

Muirfield is one of the most beloved and decorated courses on the tour, and its high stature has a strict correlation to legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus designed Muirfield, which opened in 1974, to his liking to honor the long history and allure of the sport. As a result, the course has become affectionately known as “Jack’s Place.”

For some reason, the Memorial Tournament has become a haven for international players. Six of the past 13 champions here have been internationals. Before that, only three of the 27 winners came from outside the United States. Tiger Woods is the only man who’s ever gone back-to-back at the tournament when he claimed three straight from 1999 to 2001.

Here’s a look at the book’s odds. Who are you backing?
