Michigan State freshman guard Javon Bess has officially been ruled out for the season, reports the Detroit News. Coach Tom Izzo announced the decision Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound freshman suffered a broken foot last year and also sprained his ankle while attempting to comeback from the injury. In 12 games, Bess averaged 2.7 points, 1.0 assists and 2.9 rebounds.
