The Philadelphia Eagles will be hoping that new starting quarterback Mark Sanchez can rise to the occasion on Monday Night Football as they play host to the Carolina Panthers to wrap up Week 10 of the NFL betting slate.
Sanchez takes over for Nick Foles as the Eagles’ new starting quarterback, with Foles expected to be out at least for the next six to eight weeks with a broken collarbone. The former Jets pivot went 15 of 22 for 202 yards passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions in relief of Foles in the Eagles’ 31-21 win over the Texans as 2-point favorites last weekend.

That win improved the Eagles to 6-2 both SU and ATS on the season, with their SU losses coming on the road against San Francisco on September 28 and Arizona on October 26. The OVER/UNDER has gone 5-3 in Eagles’ games so far this year.
The Panthers, meanwhile, are 3-5-1 SU and 5-4 ATS on the season after they lost 28-10 as a 3-point underdog against the Saints last weekend. That has Carolina just 0-3-1 SU in its last four games, and they’ve only won once since starting the season with a 2-0 SU mark. The OVER/UNDER has gone 5-4 in Panthers’ games so far this year.
The Eagles opened as 6-point home favorites for this matchup at the online sportsbooks, and that line has moved to Philadelphia -7.5 over the course of the week. These two teams last met back in November 2012, with Carolina winning 30-22 as a 3-point road favorite in an OVER result. Since 1996, though, the Panthers are just 3-5 both SU and ATS against the Eagles, with the OVER/UNDER going 5-3.
