Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the Daytona 500 for the second time in his career in 2014, and he’ll be among the favorites on the 2015 Daytona 500 betting lines when the online sportsbooks begin to post those odds leading into NASCAR’s season-opening race.
Earnhardt Jr. held off Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski to take the checkered flag in the 2014 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, with Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Greg Biffle, Austin Dillon, and Casey Mears rounding out the Top 10 drivers at that marquee race.
Johnson had won the Daytona 500 for the second time in his career in 2013, while Kenseth visited Victory Lane in the Daytona 500 for the second time in his career in 2012. Kevin Harvick, the 2014 Sprint Cup champion, finished 13th at the Daytona 500 last season; he won the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway back in the 2007 season.
