Chestnut consumed 68 hot dogs when he won the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2012, 62 back in 2011, 54 in 2010, 68 in 2009, 59 in 2008, and 66 in 2007.

Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti finished second to Chestnut with 53 hot dogs eaten last year, while six-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest champion Takeru Kobayashi sat out for the second year in a row with a contract dispute.
For this year, Chestnut is the -800 favorite at Bodog & Bovada over The Field (+500) to win his sixth straight title at Coney Island, and his OVER/UNDER for total hot dogs eaten sits at 62.5.
Bertoletti has an OVER/UNDER of 53.5 hot dogs eaten for the Fourth of July event, with the OVER/UNDER on the margin of victory for the contest set at 10 hot dogs for this year.
Over in the women’s competition, Sonya Thomas has an OVER/UNDER of 40.5 hot dogs eaten at Bodog & Bovada; she won the inaugural women’s event at Coney Island last year with a mark of 40. Juliet Lee was second with 29.5 hot dogs eaten in 2011.
