Houston, however, placed Howard in the list of players doubtful for the game 2. Howard, injured his left knee during a collision with teammate Josh Smith during the first quarter of game 1 against Golden State. He returned to the field to the third quarter, but finished the match with only seven points and thirteen rebounds in 26 minutes. Howard finished the previous series against the Los Angeles Clippers with averages of 17.6 points, 13.9 rebounds per game. The former player of Orlando and the Lakers missed 41 regular-season games because of a right knee injury.
