NBA Week Betting: Cavs Starting Surge

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be gunning for their fifth straight outright victory on Thursday night when they take on the struggling New York Knicks as 7.5-point road favorites in NBA betting action.

The Cavs posted double-digit victories in three straight before eking out a 111-108 home win over Milwaukee, failing to cover as heavy 10.5-point favorites.

The win streak improves Cleveland to 9-7 while maintaining their position as 13/4 favorites to win the 2015 NBA Championship in futures betting at Bodog. The Cavaliers continue their three-game road trip with a visit to Toronto on Friday to take on the red-hot Raptors, before returning to NYC on Monday for a date with the struggling Brooklyn Nets.

New York enters Thursday night’s Cavs vs. Knicks betting matchup at Madison Square Garden mired in a five-game SU losing streak, and 0-3 ATS in their last three. The 4-15 Knicks are just 2-14 SU in their last 16, but can turn things around when they take on the feeble 4-14 Charlotte Hornets on Friday night before returning home on Sunday to take on the Northwest Division-leading Portland Trail Blazers.

The 14-4 Blazers ride a red-hot 11-1 SU stretch into their Thursday night matchup with the Indiana Pacers, pegged as strong 8.5-point favorites in NBA betting at Bodog. But despite their strong record, the Blazers have disappointed bettors in the last week, losing 112-99 to Memphis as 3.5-point favorites and failing to cover in a 105-103 win at Denver on Tuesday night.

The Blazers pack their bags following Thursday night’s tilt with the Pacers for a five-game road swing starting with their matchup with the Knicks at MSG on Sunday.

The 7-11 Pacers, winless in their last four visits to Portland, wrap up a four-game road trip with a visit to Sacramento for a date with the Kings on Friday night. Indy dropped SU decisions to Cleveland and Phoenix in the first two games of the current road swing, posting ATS losses in a pair of double-digit defeats.

In other NBA betting action at Bodog, the Golden State Warriors put their 10-game SU winning streak on the line on Thursday when they welcome the New Orleans Pelicans as eight-point favorites.

The 15-2 Warriors, who travel to Chicago to face the Bulls on Saturday, have been particularly impressive during their win streak, which includes six SU wins on the road, 4-2 ATS, while being favored by no fewer than 7.5 points.
