The Dallas Cowboys were divisional champions last season and, according to oddsmakers, are considered the favorite to win the division again this season. However this year, the Cowboys lost one of their big-time players in Demarco Murray. Murray was the #1 RB last season. Jerry Jones did not want to offer Murray the contract he deserves because Jones thought his O-Line was the reason for Murray’s success; so Demarco decide to join the Cowboys arch rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. Instead, Dallas picked up RB Darren Mcfadden for their running game who will be playing behind Joseph Randle. They were also able to successfully resign Dez Bryant to a five year $70 million contract. After taking everything into consideration, the Cowboys are a risky team to place you money on.
Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Dallas Cowboys as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC East: +125
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC Conference: 6/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 10/1
New York Giants
During the free agency signings, the New York Giants were able to sign RB Shane Vereen. Vereen will be playing behind Rashad Jennings and as a 3RB. Expect Vereen to come out strong for the Giants this season as he is a perfect fit for the Giants offensive schemes. WR Victor Cruz is said to return to the field when preseason starts. Offensively, the Giants are looking pretty good this season, especially with Odell Beckham. The main concern for New York is their defensive line. After losing a finger during this off-season due to a firework incident, it is uncertain that the Giants will sign DE Jason Pierre-Paul due to his health status. However, they were able to pick up the best safety in this year’s draft, that being Landon Collins from Alabama. He will debut his seasonal career on Week 1. Oddsmaker have listed the Giants as a +300 underdog to win the division. Considering the offenses capabilities, roster & the high odds, I recommend taking the Giants to win the division RIGHT NOW before the lines change.
Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the New York Giants as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC East: +300
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC Conference: 16/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 28/1
The Philadelphia Eagles made a huge move when they signed RB Demarco Murray & RB Ryan Matthews. These two RBs will pair up with Darren Sproles this season in Chip Kelly’s Spread offense. Exciting to see what these three RBs can bring for the Eagles. They traded Nick Foles to the Rams for Sam Bradford who is currently injured and is set as the Back-up QB come this regular season. They also traded their top RB LeSean McCoy to the Bills for ILB Kiko Alonso. According to the Depth charts of rotoworld, Alonso isn’t even in the starting depth chart. Very hard to understand what kind of approach head coach Chip Kelly is taking making them a big risk when it comes to sports betting
Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Philadelphia Eagles as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC East: +180
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC Conference: 11/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 20/1
Despite their poor season last year, the Redskins were not as active during the off-season in regards to free agency signings. They did not make any majors acquisitions except for FS Dashon Goldson, who has been struggling in the past couple of years. The Redskins did suffer a big blow when they lost linebacker Brian Orakpo. He was the core of the Redskins defense…and now, literally, there is nobody left on the defensive side making them a huge risk. Head Coach Jay Gruden also decided to stick with QB RGIII. According to several reports, their relationship has gotten a lot been since last year. Advice: Don’t put your cash on Washington.
Oddmakers at Bodog & Bovada currently list the Washington Redskins as:
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC East: +1400
Odds to win the 2015-16 NFC Conference: 66/1
Odds to win the 2016 Superbowl : 125/1
