Not only did the Seattle Seahawks keep their quest for a second straight Super Bowl title alive over the weekend, but they also managed to cover the biggest spread on the NFL betting board for the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
The Seahawks had been listed as 10.5-point home favorites against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night, and they rolled to the SU and ATS victories with a 31-17 win. Russell Wilson threw for 268 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions for Seattle against Carolina.

The Green Bay Packers joined the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game with a Divisional Round win over the Dallas Cowboys, but they didn’t manage to cover the posted spread in the 26-21 home victory for anyone that got them at -6 in the Sunday afternoon contest. Aaron Rodgers passed for 316 yards with three TDs and no INTs.
Over in the AFC the New England Patriots were 6.5-point home favorites against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday afternoon, and Tom Brady and company won but didn’t cover in a 35-31 victory. Brady threw for 367 yards for New England in that win over the Ravens with three touchdown strikes and one interception on the day.
Finally, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos were listed as 7-point home favorites against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but they lost outright 24-13 in that contest. Luck passed for 265 yards for the Colts in that road victory with two touchdown strikes and two interceptions, with Daniel Herron rushing for a score.
