The Arizona Cardinals were as much as 9-point underdogs for their home game against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night in Week 16, and that line proved to be generous as the Cards were blasted 35-6.
That result allowed the Seahawks to take over first place in the NFC West standings on a tiebreaker, with Seattle at 11-4 SU and 9-6 ATS heading into the final week of the NFL’s regular season and Arizona at 11-4 SU and 10-5 ATS. Both teams have clinched playoff berths.

The New Orleans Saints were 7-point home favorites against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16 but lost 30-14 to get eliminated from playoff contention. The Falcons will now battle the Carolina Panthers for first place in the NFC South in Week 17; Carolina beat Cleveland 17-13 as a 3-point favorite over the weekend.
The New England Patriots survived a scare in Week 16 with a slim 17-16 win over the New York Jets in which they couldn’t come close to covering an 11.5-point spread. The Green Bay Packers were the biggest favorite of the week at -12.5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won both SU and ATS in a 20-3 victory.
Green Bay enters Week 17 tied with the Detroit Lions at 11-4 SU atop the NFC North standings, with the Lions coming off a 20-14 win over the Chicago Bears in which they didn’t cover a 9.5-point spread. The Philadelphia Eagles fell out of playoff contention with a 27-24 loss to Washington as a 7.5-point favorite in Week 16.
And the Dallas Cowboys were just 2.5-point home favorites against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16, but Tony Romo and company powered their way to a 42-7 victory in that contest. Dallas has now clinched the NFC East division title with records of 11-4 SU and 9-6 ATS on the season.
