The Green Bay Packers will host the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday as an opening 7.5-point favorite on the NFL betting lines, with the winner of the showdown claiming the NFC North division title.
The Packers are 0-2 both SU and ATS in their last two games against the Lions, but that didn’t stop them from being bet up to -9 shortly after the line for the game opened. Green Bay and Detroit are both sitting at 11-4 SU on the season, with the Packers 8-6-1 ATS and the Lions 7-8 ATS heading into Week 17.

The NFC South division title will also be on the line on Sunday, with the 6-8-1 SU Carolina Panthers visiting the 6-9 Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome. The Falcons opened as 2.5-point home favorites for the contest, and they beat the Panthers 19-17 as a 2.5-point road favorite in their first meeting of the season.
The San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs are still in the hunt for playoff berths in the AFC heading into Week 17, and they’ll meet at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Kansas City opened as a 3-point home favorite, and at 8-7 SU they need a win on Sunday over 9-6 San Diego and some help to make the postseason.

Elsewhere on the opening NFL betting lines for Week 17, the Baltimore Ravens opened as 9.5-point home favorites against the Cleveland Browns as they try to sneak into the playoffs, while the Houston Texans opened as 9.5-point home favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars with their playoff lives on the line as well on Sunday.
The Pittsburgh Steelers opened at -3 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals in their battle for top spot in the AFC North standings, with Indianapolis at -7.5 on the road at Tennessee, New England at -10 at home against Buffalo, Arizona at +3.5 on the road at San Francisco, and Seattle at -10 at home against St. Louis.
