Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have yet to cover a posted spread so far this season, and they’ll return from their bye in Week 5 as 7-point favorites on the opening NFL odds against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals.
Denver is 2-1 SU but 0-3 ATS on the season, failing to cover spreads in SU wins over Indianapolis and Kansas City and a SU loss against Seattle. The Broncos, however, are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Cardinals – who enter the matchup at 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS on the season.

Five other teams were favored by about a touchdown on the opening NFL betting lines for Week 5, with the Eagles at -7 against the Rams, the Lions at -6.5 against the Bills, the Niners at -7.5 against the Chiefs, the Chargers at -7 against the Jets, and the Seahawks at -7 against Washington on Monday Night Football.
The biggest favorites on the Week 5 opening NFL odds, however, were Green Bay -10 at home to Minnesota on Thursday Night Football, and New Orleans -12 at home to Tampa Bay. The Saints and Buccaneers have each started the season 1-3 both SU and ATS, and New Orleans is 4-1 ATS in its last five games against the Bucs. Matchup Reports: Cardinals vs. Broncos | Bucs vs. Saints | Steelers vs. Jaguars
The Steelers fell to 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS with their last-minute loss to the Buccaneers last week, but they still opened as 5.5-point road favorites against the Jaguars in Jacksonville for Week 5. The Jags are 0-4 both SU and ATS on the season, but at least some of the NFL betting trends for the week are on their side – Jacksonville is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games against Pittsburgh.
