NFL Rushing Leader: Peterson Favorite

Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings played just one game last season, but he’s still the betting favorite on the odds to lead the NFL in rushing yards in 2015 at the online sportsbooks.

At Bodog Peterson sits as the +400 favorite on the odds to lead the NFL in rushing yards in 2015 after he was held to 75 rushing yards in one game last season before being suspended for the duration of the campaign.

Peterson, however, was fifth in the NFL in rushing yards back in 2013 with 1,266 in just 14 games, and he led the league in rushing yards in 2012 by a big margin with 2,097 – that equalled 131.1 yards per game for the running back.

Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks, Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs, and DeMarco Murray of the Philadelphia Eagles are all tied for second on that betting prop at Bodog at +800 odds. Murray led the NFL in rushing yards last season with 1,845 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, putting him nearly 500 yards ahead of second-place Le’Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

LeSean McCoy, now with the Buffalo Bills, is then at +850 on the betting prop after he finished third in the league with 1,319 rushing yards last season while with the Eagles. Eddie Lacy of the Green Bay Packers sits at +900, with Jeremy Hill of the Cincinnati Bengals at +1100.

Bell, who rushed for 1,361 yards last season, is then back at +1400 on the list at Bodog. Bell, however, will miss the first two games of the regular season for the Steelers for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy; that suspension was brought down from three games.

Who will lead the NFL in Rushing Yards in the 2015 Regular Season?
